EYL Policy on Game Reschedules.
Baseball is an outdoor sport, therefore we are subject to the whims of Mother Nature in regards to rescheduling games. Please note that EYL is a
league of 42 teams playing on 5 fields. The schedule keeper is well aware of the desire of all teams to play their games at the beautiful Hanratty fields. Unfortunately, this is not possible and therefore all teams
are expected to play an appropriate portion of their games in Warinanco Park.
EYL will reschedule and post new schedules shortly after the game is postponed. The coaching staffs of both teams will receive an email notifying them of the rescheduled date. The Team
Manager is responsible for confirming their acceptance as soon as possible.
Parents, Coaches and Opposing Managers should communicate this information to each other as soon as possible. If the opposing manager does not confirm, the Manager must contact
that person to make sure they are informed about the date. The only way this process will work is if the Team Managers remain diligent in their timely response to the EYL
Schedule Keeper. Every individual team schedule is posted with confirmation details on rescheduled games. The rescheduled
game summary will also show the status of confirmations with regards to these games.
If a team shows up for a rescheduled game and their opponent does not show up, then both teams will be awarded a DOUBLE FORFEIT LOSS. The league is about
playing the game and it is important that everyone involved in running the league work hard to play the game.
Thank you for your Full Cooperation with this process.
The EYL Schedule Keeper
Note: Surprisingly, in 2010, several teams are requesting to avoid games on Saturday and Sunday. This has put an increased number of games into the park during the week. If
you are interested in Coaching for the 2011 season and you have more flexibility on weekends, please volunteer to manage a team. Any person wishing to assume scheduling duties for the 2011 season, please
contact a member of the EYL Executive Board.
